Pousada do Ouro
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: Historic Quarters
Number of Rooms: 27
Style: Traditional
Here goes a description of Paraty "It was in Paraty that the Portuguese colonists arrived around 1554. Paraty was a very important port from where gold was shipped to Portugal."
And it is here that you will discover some of the most stunning, golden, beaches and islands on the South American continent among undisturbed tropical nature, translucent skies and blue sea surroundings.
Truly a place to reconnect with the world. A moment in time where your senses will be tingled.
And guess what? This is where you will find the simple but utterly charming and stylish boutique hotel – the Pousada do Ouro. Nothing too fancy here but the lively earthy colours so typical of Brazil contrast beautifully with the 18th century whitewashed façade.
Spacious rooms with high-ceilings rooms, ceiling fans, a mix of singular unique furnishings and, last but not least, truly friendly owners and staff pretty much guarantee a special stay.
Oh by the way, the pool area is simply wonderful as is the spectacle of the dense flora.
Paraty and the Pousada do Ouro go together like strawberries and cream. One of those great communions that guests will be thankful for.
Accommodation:
The Pousada do Ouro offers 4 different types of accommodation:
Standard Apartment
Superior Apartment
Special Suite
Suite Ouro
The Superior and Standard rooms are found in the charming vila of the Pousada and most of the special suites are in the reception building. Whatever the type of accommodation/room all are simply but comfortably decorated and come with en-suite bathrooms, minibars and LCD televisions (though we suspect you won't being watching to much as there is simply so much to see and do in and around the Pousada do Ouro). Two of the superior rooms also have their own private balconies.

Fantastic Days
"I spent some fantastic days at the Pousada do Ouro. I had everything I needed for a stressless weekend: First class service at the reception and at the pool bar, tranquility, besides great sightseeing and restauranat suggestions through Paraty. I'll certainly come back come back and stay at the Pousada do Ouro again."

Paraty
Paraty is a really nice place to visit all year round. There are many different events during the year, such as the Puppet Theatre and houses the well known FLIP, International Festival.
Furthermore, Paraty is a gastronomic centre. The numerous restaurants throughout the historical centre, islands and beaches offer the best of its regional “Caiçara” food with its fish and other seafood platters. The international cuisine is also very present with several well known chefs working in Paraty.
"Cachaça"
The “Cachaça” of Paraty is known nationwide. Of more than 100 distilleries in the city which operated in the XVIII century, there’s only a few left today. Nevertheless, they continue faithful in producing the local “pinga” with superb quality. Specialists say it’s Brazil’s finest
