The Hesperia Madrid is completely at home whether welcoming leisure guests or business travellers. Yet what makes this hotel really stand out is its privileged location in Salamanca district. This means you are near the main shopping area of the Paseo de la Castellan.

The other great point is that, in essence, this is a deluxe hotel in all but price. Well designed and restored from the shell of a classical building, service is exceptional, as are the facilities.

It is not a small hotel, there are over 100 rooms in all, but decoration takes in contemporary art, stonework and architectural design which has a real soothing effect. In fact, the whole interior was designed by Pascua Ortega, known for his work at the Royal Theatre and other well-know buildings. So the upshot is great decoration that seamlessly combines modern and classical elements with top quality furnishing. And just to make sure you get into relax mode, live music is available almost everyday in the form of a pianist or harpist.

The size also means some extra goodies such a health club, gym and whirlpools, as well as smart shops and valet parking, if you want to be pampered further. The Spanish are mad about their food and true to form the Hesperia is base to chef Santi Santamaria who serves up wonderful new Spanish cuisine in the Santceloni restaurant and we recommend at least one meal there.

Given the Hesperia Madrid's affordable rates for such a deluxe feel and wonderful location in particular, we can only sum up by saying this is a great value for money hotel.
