It is not just the fact that Son-Vent is located in one of the most beautiful valleys of the south east coast of Malloca that makes it special. That alone would be good enough for many people, tucked away, as it is, in a large nature reserve away from any tourist trap between Cas Concos and Alqueria Blanca.

The other two pillars of a stay here are a truly special welcome from Dagmar, who is incredibly authentic, kind and professional. Her goal is to make your stay as special as possible. Thirdly, there are the rooms. Much of the place was rebuilt, expanded and designed with modern comfort in mind. Son Vent now has 11 very different accommodations (seven double and four suites) each delightfully decorated with an eye for good design. All are ample, come with separate terraces and spacious bathrooms. There is even a welcoming fireplace for those (rare) cold winter days.

Son Vent also has a restaurant, bar, 45-feet swimming pool and an unexpected but splendid tennis court with artificial surface to protect the joints. This is an ideal zone to practice trekking and hiking – or just plain walking – and excellent for bird watching. But not all is wilderness around here – the excellent Vall d’Or golf club is only 10 minutes away and white-sand beaches (probably the best in the island) are some 20 minutes drive by car.

The typical “Mallorquín” villages nearby include Felanitx y Santanyi – good places to try some healthy Mediterranean recipes or visit the prehistoric ruins of the Talayotic culture (Stone Age megaliths) so characteristic in these parts of the world.
