The Pink Farm is different, that’s for sure. Welcoming, hidden within its verdant garden just one kilometre from Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, it is a place to relax, unwind and enjoy the beautiful peace and countryside of the region. Yet it is imbued with a rock-roll spirit that 100% reflects the personality of Kako, the owner. He is an inveterate collector, so expect movie cameras, electric fans, coffee grinders, 1950’s objects (pop art comes to Provence, so to speak) to adorn the house and rooms to mix it with the pastoral charm.

And you know what? It works a treat, making for an atmosphere that reflects Kako’s own philosophy of life – fun, quirky and utterly enchanting. All this is mixed in with paintings by his great grand father, Maurice Vagh-Weinmann, a well known local artist and this just adds to the excellent eclectic effect. The wood beam rooms, for example, provide a relaxed mix of all these assorted items, with the bathrooms tiled in colourful ceramics from Salerne-en-Provence. Colourful, yes, that’s the word that aptly sums up the Pink Farm - even the name alludes to it. Yet you’re still in the heart of bucolic Provence and that means awe inspiring landscapes, hills and the sort of villages the area is world famous for.

Though the Pink Farm does not have an in house restaurant there are several excellent places to eat in the vicinity and breakfast is simply a wonderful opportunity to stock up for the day. Everything fresh and tasty - and colourful.
