Chambre avec Vue
Hotel Type: Bed & Breakfast
Environment: Village
Number of Rooms: 6
Style: Stylish
Chambre Avec Vue is located in the peaceful medieval village of Saignon - five minutes from Apt and its famous market, whilst historic Avignon is some 60 km away. It has been delightfully transformed from an old and noble building in ruins into a doubly inviting place to stay. By this we mean that not only is Chambre Avec Vue a very friendly accommodation in its own right, it is also a local "Mecca of art". Thanks to the efforts and dedication of Kamilla Regent and Pierre Jaccaud the Chambre Avec Vue exhibits works by guest artists, both local and foreign. It makes for a pretty unique decoration, painting wise, and helps explain the place’s name – literally “Room with a View”, in this case not necessarily rolling hills or natural vistas but some pretty quirky paintings and art. Kamilla also produces some great work of art of her own – notably in the kitchen, for she is a great cook and guests should definitely take advantage of this. Accommodation wise, there are only five rooms, all full of light and character and with high ceilings. The main public area comes with a fireplace, Provencal tiles and a “special” curtain characteristic of the area. The dining room also has a fireplace for colder days. And then there is the beautiful rear garden. Even here there are also works of art - bronzes and terracottas in particular - where you can relax in the shade perhaps with a good book and a drink by one of the trees. The Chambre Avec view is a very endearing place to stay with great ambience.
