Modern, superb location and utterly trendy.

The trouble with Paris, if you can call it that, is that in the centre almost every location seems to be a great one, which may make choosing a place rather difficult sometimes. But even so, some places are more equal than others. How about the Left Bank in the St Germain dês Prés quarters, for example? You can’t get much better than that, and here’s where you’ll find the utterly modern polished stone and glass building that makes up the la Villa Saint Germain hotel.

Designed by Jean Philippe Nuel, the Hotel la Villa manages to blend valuable modern materials – don’t expect antique pieces or centuries old furnishings – with marble, fine wood, minimalist tables, Japanese style and blends of beige and brown to provide a sophisticated haven of modernism. As with many Paris hotels, rooms may not be on the large side but they are pretty cool. Good use of light, wood, fabrics and natural colour schemes make sure of that.

The upshot of it all is boutique style all the way, so if you are looking for a prime location with a contemporary feel, mixed in with luxury, then the la Villa is a prime candidate.
