Originally built in the 1500s, the main building of Masseria San Domenico was, once upon a time, a lookout from where the Knights of Malta would keep an eye on the Adriatic sea to forestall an Ottoman invasion.

San Domenico was totally restored in the early nineties and opened its doors five years later (1996) as a boutique hotel within a 200-acre farm with olive and fruit trees and 1500 feet away from that stunning sea that washes the Apulian littoral.
