Hotel Commercianti
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: City
Number of Rooms: 34
Style: Traditional
An historic little luxury Bologna hotel right in the centre of town.
The Hotel Commercianti is part of the Bologna Art Hotels group, which are rightly famous for the excellence of their locations and character. The other hotels of the group are the Hotel Novecento, Hotel Orologio and the Hotel Corona d'Oro 1890.
Despite their common heritage, each one brings its own distinct personality. The Commercianti, for example, is a delightful ancient building set in the shadow of Basilica di San Petronio, with outstanding views over the old town. It is said to have been built in the 12th century and some of the original elements, such as the old beams and decor, still remain. Some, in fact, were unearthed after undergoing an extensive renovation.
It is also one of the few hotels to have been awarded the “Stanze Italiane 2004” by the touring Club Italiano in view of the “unique experience” it provides.
