Dimora Bolsone
Hotel Type: Bed & Breakfast
Environment: Lake
Number of Rooms: 5
Style: Elegant
What can we say about a place that has simply incredible views of the western shore of Lake Garda? Dimora Bolsone, perhaps?
This renovated 15th century manor house is situated in a verdant hill that slopes steeply down to Lake Garda. And, as we might have hinted, the views of this magnificent 5 room bed & breakfast are quite breathtaking, memorable, and make for quite an experience.
But there’s more to it than just vistas, of course - rooms, of which there are only five in all, are well appointed, comfortable and combine a subtle mix of works of art and antique furniture, Italy style. They are also individually styled, as their respective photos attest.
Still, as if the views were not enough, this stone house is also bang in the middle of a beautiful natural park known as the "The Garden of Senes". It is ideal for taking a walk and peace is the order of the day here, one where body and the soul can totally unwind.
We’re talking 80,000 square metres of park, by the way, made up of lush vegetation, broken here and there by natural crystal-clear waterfalls and gently shaded paths.
Rafaelle and his wife Catia are to be congratulated for turning this once derelict house into such a stunning place to stay by Lake Garda – a place of exquisite location and class.
Please note: Given the type of accommodation and layout, the Dimora Bolsone is not suitable for children under 12

Surroundings
Domora Bolsone is a fantastic base for getting to know Lake Garda and its surroundings.
It borders on the Vittoriale Degli Italiani, the last magnificent home of Gabriele DíAnnunzio, the Abruzzo-born poet who lived at the turn of the 20th century and was one of the greatest exponents of Decadent-Romantic literature. This hero and artist was renowned for his adventuresome life, for his creative vitality and also for his erotic love affairs.
The Vittoriale attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world. In the middle of the Rimembranze park stands the poetís house, brimming with furniture, paintings, sculptures, ornaments and bric-a-brac that DíAnnunzio collected throughout his life. This veritable treasure trove also contains his innumerable works-novels, plays, tragedies and poetry. All year round visitors can admire his aeroplane, torpedo patrol boat and the Puglia (ship), silent witnesses of an extravagant life and daring deeds, which have now become legendary.
A series of major events is held at the Vittoriale every year. Plays, operas, ballets and concerts are held every summer in the large open-air amphitheatre overlooking the lake. The road from Gardone Riviera leads north to Gargnano or down through SalÚ to Sirmione, site of the famous Grotte di Catullo, the remains of the Roman villa where the Latin poet Catullus once stayed.
The nearest large towns are Brescia, Verona and Mantua, which regularly stage exhibitions and other events of international appeal. And Venice, which needs no introduction, is only a short train ride away.
