Luxurious simplicity in Puglia.
In times gone by, the 15th century Masseria Torre Coccaro used to be part of a series of look out posts against attacks from Turkish pirates, and has also been used for the production of olive oil (in fact, the area is the biggest producer of high quality olive oil in all of Italy). Nowadays, having been transformed into a superlative five star resort means invaders are urbane travellers looking for quality places to stay in one of the least spoilt areas of Italy, or as one past guest put “a retreat from reality”.
In fact, the mission statement of this five star resort is simply to give back guests the antique natural life of Puglia, to which we may add with a slice of luxury as standard. Every single room comes with it own private garden, no less, within the centuries old olive trees of the Fasona plain. There is even a lake cum swimming pool amongst the olive trees to enjoy. Other rooms are placed inside the courtyard of the Masseria and one has its own antique orchard garden, next to the main "Erbarium" that makes you dizzy with all the perfumes that emanates.
Finally, the hotel has a large variety of activities and leisure facilities including a Health Centre, fitness and private beach. There are many golf courses in the surrounding area; free shuttle service is offered to the Egnathia Golf Club, just 800 Mts. away. A retreat from reality indeed.
