Venice, history and style go hand in glove like strawberries and cream. You can’t seem to separate them in this uniquely beautiful city, and if you stay at the Hotel Antico Doge, then all these elements are fused to perfection.
The historical connection is provided by the exceptional building itself which started off life in the 13th century as the Palazzo Falier - once the home of a Venetia Doge, no less, and hence the name. So a sojourn here is linking up with a bit of political history. As for the style bit, Marienella, the owner, has added her own brand of sophistication to what was already a rich patrimony.
The restoration carried out by this architect by profession, has left nothing to chance, with each detail designed to add to the hotels liberty style charm. Rooms are beautifully decorated with luxurious materials, high beamed ceilings, a number of four poster bed with curtains, fireplaces, chandeliers and well-appointed bathrooms. So any stay here will be romantic as well as sophisticated.
To cap it all, its convenient location means many of Venice's treasures are close at hand. The Piazza S. Marco and the Rialto Bridge come come to mind, but other churches palaces and monuments are easily reached.
All this adds to a an exceptional and in, our view, value for money residence.

Beautiful rooms of 30 m2 approximately, with a nice view from the terrace or the balcony over the typical venetian canal and SS. Apostoli Square. Outside the windows there are always gondola that silently slip in the calm waters.
