Nietzsche once said “If I had to think of a word that could replace “music” I could only think of Venice”. Indeed, Venice is music to people’s ears and a feast for the eyes. It is food for the soul, so to speak.
If you want to experience Venice at its finest, live out a few days like a real life “doge” in a small palace by the canal’s edge - with all the trimmings and atmosphere of old Venice - then the Palazetto Pisani is one for you.
Named after one of Venice’s most important historical families, the Pisani, who go back to the 14th century, this beautiful palace was built in the 16th century on the back of their huge profits from banking.
It is a pretty special place and let’s start off by also saying that it is not cheap as such (rooms start off from 200€ onwards) but as a special treat it is hard to beat.
Rich in history, this small Venice luxury hotel looks out over the Grand Canal, between the Accademia Bridge and Piazza San Marco. Venice, the magical city, pans out in all her splendor before our very eyes. You can even access the hotel directly by gondola or boat to its own private mooring. Just the sight of the old building is enough to get the juices flowing but the inside doesn’t disappoint either.
The traditional Venetian style of decoration, classical and stylish, imbues the whole place; from the public areas which boast marble floors, Murano chandeliers, 18th century paintings and beautiful painted ceilings, to the large rooms (click on rooms for more details) which are equally decorated to true Venetian style and taste.
The whole place also imbues serenity. Sometimes you can hear the piano play from the nearby music academy which in fact just adds to the atmosphere and charm, but the other ace up the Palazetto Pisani is the wonderful Nicolò and his staff, who know they have a magical place in the heart of Venice and are proud to show guests its unique pulling power.
Added to the beautiful raw materials at hand, they really do make guests feel like royalty. As we mentioned at the beginning, like a real life “doge”.
