You really can’t get much cuter or authentic - or better situated for that matter – than the Chez Momo. Placed snugly away by the lovely Tizi-n-Test road, en route to the High Atlas Mountains, it may only be one hour away from Marrakech but make that a world away in terms of quietude and peace.

Chances are you’ll be hearing the metallic clunk of goat bells whilst you take breakfast by the pool or well tended gardens. Indeed, the simplicity in taste and services (don’t expect high faluten facilities at the Chez Momo) is more than made up by genuinely friendly welcome of Mohammed and his family, the delicious cuisine (a highlight of a stay here) and the “real” feel of the place. You’ll be caught hook line and sinker.

he comfy rooms, though not large are rustic with all the trappings of old Morocco, so prepare for rugs, lanterns, old wooden doors, antique pots, crimson and beige walls. If you’re lucky enough to go in summer then make the most of eating outside by the pool as you enjoy a delicious meal by the shimmering water - it's all so romantic.

This really is the place if what you are looking for is a slice of real Moroccan hospitality and that getaway feel, as well as the perfect base to visit the many charms of the Atlas Mountains.
