This is a great little place right in the centre of Essaouira’s Medina or old market quarter.
It’s simply done and charmingly furnished without being over the top. The ground floor doesn’t have the standard courtyard but instead a large homely sitting room where great expanses of cushions and comfy sofas invite you to stop for a while and do very little apart from chat, drink a glass of tea and let go.
From the ground floor a spiral staircase leads up to the bedrooms with decor built around different colours with the traditional tile-work adding a few brighter shades. The hotel has a roof terrace running the length of the building and plenty more sofas to relax after a day’s wandering the warren of streets below, shopping for spices or simply relaxing in one of the traditional hammans.
Essaouira is tailor-made for relaxation and this little hotel provides a fantastic opportunity to continue the theme all night long.
