One of the loveliest houses in one of the Algarve's loveliest towns.

Tavira is probably the Algarve’s prettiest city. It has somehow managed to beat off the hordes of tourism and keep its old market town soul. The river Gilão still flows serenely, the fishermen continue to ply their trade and life seems to move more slowly.

Those lucky enough to find a special place in the centre can take it all in. A place like the Casa Beleza do Sul, in fact. This jewel of an accommodation has just three accommodations but all are wonderfully attractive and provide a sense of space and light as well as a mix between the genuine and modern. For example:

Duplex - the fascinating: fully renovated as all open space on two levels with a spacious and cosy kitchenette/dining area. It comes with an ample room overlooking a pine staircase and also includes a spacious bedroom from which you can see the roofs of the house surrounded by a blue sky. The walls of the bathroom are covered with pink “tadelakt” (lime render from Marrakech) giving a Mediterranean and relaxing feel.

Mosaic Suite - the authentic: featuring the original floor tiles, wooden ceilings and doors, this renovated one bedroom apartment has a cosy living room, a well equiped kitchen and a fully renovated bathroom with white “tadelakt” - a Moroccan precious lime render.

Blue Suite- the romantic: a south facing Suite with an authentic and ample living room which goes back to the 19th century. As the name implies, the walls are painted in hues of blue whilst the whole space has been fully renovated whilst keeping the wonderful old wooden floor and ceiling. The bedroom serves up an impressive pyramid shape wooden and cane ceiling, called in Tavira a “tesouro” roof. The suite has a little private kitchenette.

All three suites fit in perfectly with the essence of Tavira and its slow rhythm of life. And with the great beach of Tavira island an exotic boat ride away, beach lovers have a further reason to enjoy the Casa Beleza do Sul.

Golf is one of the main activities of the Algarve and in the immediate vicinity you will find excellent golf courses. All kinds of water sports, boat tours, bird watching, walking tours and mountain bike tours are offered by local companies.

There are also numerous cultural events such as the early European open air film festival, the medieval festival in the castle of Castro Marim, regularly changing exhibition in the Palacio da Galeria, etc….
