The Casa das Barcas reminds us of a prop used in movies – that picturesque house which almost touches the water. In this case, it is only 20 metres away from the sea, so take a few steps and you’re literally swimming in the Atlantic, whilst the backdrop view of Pico Mountain and the island of São Jorge is just simply stunning.
So the lure for those looking for 17th century style décor and nature staring you in the face - in one of the most beautiful islands in the world we may add - is simply irresistible.
The house may be old, but it has been recently restored and furnished with modern bathrooms and furnishings.
