One could argue that this is the best location in Lisbon for a hotel.

Downtown, near the "Rossio"(the main central square), a few minutes from the water’s edge and basically in the thick of the action in terms of what Lisbon has got to offer. It is also basically sandwiched between “Alfama” the oldest part of Lisbon with its imposing castle on top and the trendy “Bairro Alto”, replete with bars, restaurants and nightlife.

If you are only in town for a day or so, you will never need a taxi or take public transport and still see much of what Lisbon has got to offer. But this new hotel also provides more than simply location. It offers an innovative and rather trendy concept in its design. Whilst keeping the turn of the century façade, the interior has been totally redone and each of its four floors remodelled on a different theme: Urban, complete with graffiti and road signs, no less; Pop, including Andy Warhol reproductions; Zen where wood is the dominant material and Tribal, which takes African motifs and faces as its principal inspirations.

To take matters further, each floor has a different scent in keeping with the theme. Rooms, whatever the floor, come in 4 sizes: S (Small – 12 to 14 m2), M ( Medium - 15 to 17 m2), L (Large 17 to 19 m2) and XL (Extra large, in excess of 20 m2). But all are pretty coolly decorated with modern touches and, of course, that design feel.
