Visitors who come here can claim to having stayed at the biggest estate in Europe covering, as it does, some 16,000 hectares - most of which is taken up with the extraction of cork and the rearing of Iberian mountain pigs.
Getting to the main building is by way of a winding forest road and protected woodlands, where a number of bird species make their nests. At the end of the driveway one comes to a courtyard surrounded by palm trees, a long arcaded façade and minaret like tower where storks take up residence every year to breed – an attractive sight indeed. Inside, bedrooms are simply furnished whilst the decor of the main rooms has a certain British colonial atmosphere to it.
These include a main dining room complete with chandeliers as well as a snooker hall. The sheer size of the estate allows for a number of interesting activities, including horseback riding and trekking.
This is indeed a fine base for those looking to enjoy the silence and tranquility of a majestic location whilst at the same time be in close touch to attractions such as the beautiful Alcornales Natural Park, the lovely town of Ronda or the bustling Marbella coast.
