How on earth is the Alcoba officially called a hostal? This is so much more than just that. Perhaps it’s the low rates?
The thing is, it’s a super stylish, modern, comfortable and a well located place to stay within easy reach of many places of interest, in the heart of Sanlucar’s “Barrio Bajo” - or downtown to you and me. That means plenty of monuments, history and, this being Spain, plenty of tapas, bars and restaurants.
Stylish and environmentally aware, the Hostal Alcoba was created using sustainable materials, renewable and non polluting material throughout its ten bright an airy rooms and public areas.
Even breakfast is of the organic kind, for the idea behind the hotel is not simply a place to stay, end of, but rather a location promoting cultural tourism and environmentally friendly activities such as hiking and cycling.
So it combines the modernity of modish materials and lofty ideals without forfeiting comfort.
The only possible downsize is that rooms are on the small size, but for what it has to offer rates are even smaller. Plus, it even manages take in swimming pool, garden, patio and library.
Its eco credentials are further boosted by the fact that all rooms are accessible to to disabled persons.

Culture and monuments

There are also many monasteries and churches such as the Carmelite Convent, Church of Nuestra Señora de la O, and the Parroquia de Santo Domingo that are breathtaking in their beauty.
Visitors may also enjoy other attactions such as the rich industrial heritage of wine, the food market, and the architecture of early twentieth century houses. Of course, its beaches and horse racing, a great sporting event that takes place on the shore of the Guadalquivir River during the summer, are worth the visit.
