Simply a great resort in Southern Spain The Montemedio Golf & Country Club is surely one of the lucky places in Europe. Just consider the following: a great climate, leafy cared for groves, beautiful surroundings of Mediterranean pines, wild olive trees – and not a tourist development in sight. Not surprisingly, it has become a natural sanctuary for migratory birds, which make it their natural habitat coming from the colder climes of northern Europe.

Humans will find it pretty tempting too for much the same reasons. Especially if they enjoy a game of golf or anything equestrian. The Montenmedio provides abundant facilities in for these two popular activities.

In terms of golf, Seve Ballasteros called it one of the best courses in Europe, both in quality and landscape. As for horse riding, facilities are generally considered to be the most complete in Europe. There are many other things to do here, including adventure sports, 4x4, trekking, that visitors may almost forget about the excellent accommodations that can be found here. Either the rooms in the stately main house or 25 wooden bungalows located between the golf and equestrian centre that provide guests with high levels of comfort as well as the opportunity to enjoy the rustic grand style and great views to boot. There are also three excellent restaurants to choose from – the elegant atmosphere of the Clubhouse, the hearty meals of the “Kurupay” or the Italian style restaurant.

The food here is much like the place itself – mouth watering.
