Palacio de los Navas
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: City
Number of Rooms: 19
Style: Traditional
This is a great little hotel.
Skillfully restored, not too large, historic (it started off life as a palace in the 16th century after all) and located right in the centre of town not too far off the City Hall - with the world famous Alhambra and cathedral being only a stone’s throw away - it is nevertheless a little oasis of calm gently shutting out the hustle and bustle of busy Granada. Indeed, one of the first things you notice as you walk past the courtyard is the gentle gurgling of the fountain which seems to provide a subliminal message to calm down and take it easy.
One should also be thankful that successive renovations have not tampered with the soul of the building. The original high arches remain, as does the bolster facade, stone columns in the courtyard and staircase leading to the gallery around the patio. The same goes for the central balcony on the first floor, the two forged grilles and the small and well distributed hollows in the front. Those changes that have occurred are also definitely for the better with rooms furnished in natural materials and soothing light colours and fine pieces.
The large iron beds are more than comfortable, they come with a stack extra padding and linen to provide a really comfortable night’s sleep.
