A bright, new addition to Seville’s selection of boutique hotels.
This boutique hotel in Seville combines the history of Andalusia with boutique style design. There’s certainly no denying the historical pedigree of the Alcoba del Rey, having started off life as a Mudejar palace and according to legend, once the scene of a secret love between a royal poet and unknown lady.
But it has more to offer than history. Just witness the bright facade of the building as one approaches the La macarena district and there it is - bright, shiny and spotless – as if stating there’s a new kid on the block, when it comes to Seville hotels.
Inside, the effort to keep its Andalusian roots is obvious, with the Mudejar theme being kept throughout to particularly good use.
Hand made basins, cedar Rooms et al, plus the liberal use of historical artifacts throughout, combined with plenty of natural light and individually styled rooms just add to the atmosphere, with a further nice touch being that each room is named after a famous local poet or historical figure.
From the terrace guests are also afforded views of the local park, church and old city walls.
The Alcoba del Rey is also to be found in a pleasant location of Seville, for although it is actually around 1 mile from the representative Santa Cruz neighbourhood, it is still set within the city walls.
Exotic styling and light, airy ambience does the rest.
