La Casa del Maestro
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: City
Number of Rooms: 11
Style: Traditional
This really is a special little family run hotel.
Though located in the historic centre of beautiful Seville it is still off the beaten track as well as the tourist trap. The building itself dates back to the 19th century, is typically Andalusian in style and even comes with its own patio. It is also the old haunting ground of the Spanish guitar maestro Manuel Serrapi (hence the name) and his family have converted it into a really cosy lodging that manages to respect its original lines whilst being furnished with modern day elegance and taste.
Quirky little items include the matador suits given to the hotel by the family friend and renowned matador – El Cordobés – and there is no denying that they are truly impressive. The house also takes in a pretty terrace on top, which provides wonderful views of the city skyline.
Each bedroom has been named after a composition from the “Maestro” and is well equipped with all the mod cons one expects, including satellite TV, air conditioning, etc. Although the El Maestro does not offer lunch or dinner, it does serve breakfast, which can be taken at any time in the morning, a nice bonus for those of you who like to sleep in.
