Miró Hotel Bilbao
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: City

The first boutique hotel in Bilbao, right next to the Guggenheim.
Bilbao’s first boutique hotel is actually named after Antonio Miró the fashion designer that created it, and not after the famous painter Joán Miró.
This little matter aside, the artistic credentials of the place are simply second to none. First of all, it is only 200 metres away from the world famous Guggenheim Museum, a place, in our opinion, that everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime. And in many ways, the Miró is the perfect base for this, not only in terms of location, but also in character.
Like the Guggenheim, here we have a bold modern design with sleek contemporary furnishings and a minimalist feel throughout. It even takes in its only little gallery of black and white photographs in the corridors thus providing a launch pad for both local and foreign talent. It’s as if the two places were made for each other, so to speak.
Thus, notwithstanding the fact that Bilbao in itself is more of an industrial powerhouse rather than a quaint little town, a stay at the Miró provides a breath of fresh air, one which lovers of culture and art would do well to take advantage of.
