Hotel Real
Hotel Type: Luxury Hotel
Environment: City
Number of Rooms: 123
Style: Historic
The neo classical architectural style of this grand hotel would not look out of place on the boulevards of Cannes or Nice. As it happens, it is located in the delightful port city of Santander. And what a location!
Since its inception in 1917 the Hotel Real has gracefully dominated all around and has become a byword of classical luxury: It is easy to see why the Real has become such a major point of reference. Firstly, classical luxury made all the more appealing by a recently completed refurbishment, which has simply managed to add modern features and comfort to style.
The result is that its 128 rooms, all outward facing to make the most of the views, afford sumptuous luxury: secondly, a magnificent setting that affords fabulous views of the bay with the Cantabrian Mountains as a backdrop: thirdly, wonderful gardens and terraces; last but not least a fine service to match. Stay here and you will be in good company. Several members of the Spanish Royal family, including Don Juan Carlos, have at some time or other sojourned at the Real. Of course, should you wish to venture out from this environment, than many water sports and beaches are within a few minutes' walk and access to the Royal Golf Club of Pedreña is just across the bay.
Alternatively, simply take time to explore Santander, considered by many to be Spain’s most attractive city.
