The small but luxurious Hotel Salinas de Imón comes with a small spa to pamper body and soul.
In previous incarnations, the Salinas de Imón has been both a convent and salt depot (the very word “Salinas” means salt mine and salt is, in fact, still produced in the area). Now it has been given new life and refurbished as a top notch little hotel.
The place itself, with its yellow stonewall façade, might initially give off a rather austere feel from the outside, but once the visitor passes through the old studded entrance he will enter a world of classical luxury, colour and good taste. The living room with its chimney is truly lovely, as is the impressive library and general decor. One of them, the Charles III suite is so called because the king slept there in 1784.
The Salinas also boasts a swimming pool and walled garden, but what makes it special and likeable is its understated elegance and personalised service.
