Hospedería Convento de la Parra
Hotel Type: Hotel
Environment: Village
Number of Rooms: 21
Style: Rustic
Originally an ancient convent of the Order of Santa Clara, La Parra was built in 1673 and used by the Clarisa order of nuns until 1979. After a variety of uses by the municipality, it has now opened its doors to the world as a hotel to be enjoyed - indeed, a temptation to live in peace and tranquillity.
Here, there is the sound of water, reflection of the sunlight, nocturnal silence, the whiteness of its walls, groined vaults, stone, wood, iron, terra cotta, the cloister…all to be enjoyed.
The convent has a total of 21 rooms constructed in two phases. The old cells in the south wing are divided over two floors and take in four single and eight double rooms. The north wing, on the second floor has two suites, four special doubles and three double rooms. The dining room is located in the two naves of the old refectory. Here and in the cloister guests and visitors can enjoy excellent cuisine based on the traditional gastronomy of Extremadura, almost all year round. The ground floor houses the reception, kitchen, restaurant, vestry and choir living rooms, as well as a café with a terrace.
The swimming pool is located in the old orchard. It is visually integrated with the ancient convent walls respecting the essential white colour of the building.
