Excellent value for money lodging some 25 minutes from the sea by foot.
The Son Josep de Baix is, in our opinion, one of the best value for money accommodations in Mallorca, approx. 5 km to Monacor. Though a working farm rather than made to measure hotel – every so often, one hears the gentle tinkling of the bells as the sheep are herded away – comforts levels and decoration are of good quality, though given its rural status, hotel type facilities and services is not what you'll find here. Rather, visitors will enjoy the best of agri-tourism, from the madding crowds. In fact, the Son Josep de Baix is near the Caló d’es Serral, a coastline which, depending on the time of year, comes with or without sand.
It is also great for fishing and scuba diving. The place itself is built in the sober Majorcan style with buildings being distributed around a large courtyard, at the centre of which there lies a well and cistern. It comes replete with trees, creeper shades and enough nooks and crannies to play hide and seek all day. Traditional stonewalls and clay ceilings mix happily with some modern designs and furniture but the overall balance of good taste is always maintained.
There are also apartments to choose from making this an even more attractive proposition for families looking to get away from it all. Kids especially will love the generously sized swimming pool, scenically surrounded by trees.
