Mirabo de Valldemossa
Hotel Type: Manor House
Environment: Countryside
Number of Rooms: 9
Style: Design
The Mirabor de Valldemossa is some 500 years old, which by coincidence is the same number as its height above sea level in the Sierra de Tramuntana. The end result is a combination of old World Mallorca charm and views that take the breath away, overlooking as they do the valley below, the village and the turquoise blue Mediterranean.
Yet despite its age, the 8 spacious rooms are all individually decorated in a very contemporary style with relaxing, neutral tones – plus all mod cons - air conditioning, satellite TV and private terrace in nearly all rooms. They include a pair of suites - one with sitting room, large sofa and large windows that takes full advantage of the beautiful surrounding landscape. The other suite is located in a separate building with its own patio, Jacuzzi and views, of course. Although there is a perfectly attractive dining room adorned with a curious olive press, breakfasts and dinners are often taken outdoors in the beautiful terrace beside the house.
The gardens include two swimming pools, one of which is an infinity pools that magically merges into the horizon and a somewhat smaller pool more suitable for children.
For those who like walking, there are countless trails through the forests of pines, oaks and olive trees and the village of Valldemossa itself is a 25 minute walk. For shopping or eating in good restaurants, we suggest Deia about 15 minutes driving along a nice coastal road.
