An interesting little hotel combining typical Puglia architecture and hospitality with modern comforts
This sure is one fascinating little hotel. Built in an ancient ploughman’s residence (much of it dates back to the 17th century), it was once the agricultural factory of the local farmer. Going even further back, it actually belonged to an abbot (from whence it actually gets its name) who used to celebrate the holy mass every Sunday for the ploughmen in the area. In keeping with many agricultural residences, it is surrounded by pastures and groves. But by goodness, has it been turned into a sophisticated accommodation, following an excellent restoration by master builders. Everything, from the typical white stones of the roof, to the stables (now an excellent barrel vaulted restaurant) have been done up to great effect. As indeed are the 8 rooms, four of which are suites in the small round huts with conical roofs, housing two to four people and known locally as “trulli”. Not only are these comfortable and well apportioned, they are also great fun. Private swimming pool, extremely friendly staff and even high speed internet access, just add to the place. Then, of course, there are covered plateaus of the forest and olive groves surrounding the Abate Masseria which, all added together, make it a wonderful retreat for those looking to get away from it all in Puglia.

| Masseria Abate has a tennis court and two soccer courts with synthetic grass that can also be used at night. Guided Tours and Horse back riding as well as tranfer to the beach and boat criuses can be arranged by the hotel's staff. |

By car:
From A14 highway coming from Bari or from Taranto: driving along route 100 Bari-Taranto, exit Gioia del Colle towards Noci. Once reached the town keep direction south towards Alberobello and when in Tommaso Fiore street, near the local high school, turn right direction Martina Franca. After reaching a crossroad with a traffic light, after approximately 200 metres, turn right following the signals indicating Masseria Abate which is located 300 metres after the last signal.
If you come from Alberobello: first exit towards Noci on the ring road which will take you straight to the traffic light where you will have to turn left towards Martina Franca and then you will find the signals indicating Masseria Abate.
If you come from Brindisi or Lecce: following the route connecting Bari to Brindisi, the exit is Fasano- Taranto. Go ahead following direction Noci-Putignano. After passing through the nice road called Canale di Pirro, you will find the signal indicating Noci-Barsento and after 10 km you will reach the town of Noci. From here you will have to follow direction Alberobello and when you reach Tommaso Fiore street you will have to turn right direction Martina Franca and Masseria Abate. |

"We really enjoyed our stay here, it is a beautiful well kept hotel. We stayed in a trulli which was very comfortabe and spacious. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The restuarant was very good, lovely dishes, typical of the region, the antipasti selection must be tryed at least once -make sure you're staving! Although the pool had not opened for the season[it was April] the kids had great fun playing football on the pitches with the loan of the hotels ball. We had a great holiday and were made to feel very welcome in this very clean, pretty and well organised hotel."
