Arco del Auro is a Bed & Breakfast in an 18th century building right in the heart of Trastevere – one of Rome’s most vibrant and traditional districts. This charming lodge has been renovated recently and is both comfortable and functional: ensuite bathrooms, satellite TV, air conditioned and central heating.

Breakfast can be taken in one of the most famous cafes of the area – it’s round the corner and it also provides an Internet connection. But the most enjoyable aspect is to find ourselves in the old section of this historical city – we only have to cross the river and, lo and behold, there’s the Campo di Fiori, the Pantheon, the Campidoglio, and the Roman Forum. Five minutes further and we have the Coliseum.

Should you feel like doing some shopping or eating something, everything is around us – boutiques, bars and restaurants – all in one of the safest quarters of the capital. Trastevere has been swallowed by the great metropolis, but in the old times it was an independent city from Rome right from its inception. Arco del Auro is a wonderful springboard for a walk around the past of this fantastic city.

From Fiumicino airport there is a rail-service to Stazione Trastevere (aprox. 25 min. journey / train every half hour) and then with tram n. 8 (5 min. / Stop before ponte Garibaldi).

From Stazione Termini, take the H line bus (stop after Ponte Garibaldi).

By car, on the Lungotevere, on the side of the Tiberina isle on week days and on day-time (car park*). After 6 pm and on Sundays it is possible to park in Piazza in Piscinula* - Piscinula Square - passing through via della Lungarina.

* parking fee is of 1 € for 1 hour. It is possible to park in a charged garage 800 m far from the B&B at 10 € / day (garage Benaglia - via Benaglia).
