A real secretplace in the heart of Venice
To find a secret place in Venice, overrun as it is by hordes of tourists rushing, open-mouthed, from one famous landmark to the next is definitely not easy. But such places do exist and the wonderful Ca’ Pisani is certainly one. Located in the peaceful and refined Dorsoduro district, only a stone’s through away from the famous Ponte del Accademia across from San Marco, this little jewel of a hotel offers a feel of the real Venice, whilst catering to the refined tastes of even the most demanding seasoned traveler. Inspired by the concepts and philosophy of design hotels, architect Roberto Canovaro has ingenuously managed to combine a perfectly harmonious blend of original furnishings dating back to the Thirties and Forties with a futuristic interior design. The lobby is an example of this, an avant-garde design of marble and walnut wood that contrasts with the antique furnishings and pieces sprinkled through out. The same goes for the rooms – all 29 boast with the soft tones of geometrical paintings and up-to-date technology, which taken in combination with subtly decorated antique and friendly service, instantly make you feel good to be. A sophisticated home from home in one of the most memorable cities in the world. |

| A short distance from the historic city-centre and the itineraries frequented by mass tourism there lies an area that is no less historic, no less genuinely Venetian. These are the islands of the lagoon in a wide expanse of water and marshlands where the quiet creeks change with the ebb and flow of the tide, and the traditional lagoon boats obstinately survive in the face of the aggressively noisy motor craft. The colours of the water, earth, and sky mix with the red brick of human constructions, and the sandbanks offer shelter to the typical fauna, dwarf herons, herons, seagulls, hawks, and kingfishers... Here is a Venice where nature predominates, but where traces of history tell of the origins of the city itself. The island of Treporti is ideal for spring walks, both on foot and by bicycle, or the shady banks of the Brenta river, enriched by a variety of beautiful ancient villas and their gardens, enlivened by important events such as the Blooming Riviera. |
