Ca’n Quatre is an old Majorcan farm in the beautiful Sóller valley. The main building has been transformed into a charming hotel with 10 ample bedrooms that look one hundred percent Mediterranean – all have ensuite bathrooms, air conditioning and satellite TV. Outside we find lovely, manicured gardens, a swimming pool and a solarium – and inviting shade under green leafy trees. Breakfasts deserve a special mention, with local cheeses, homemade marmalade and all sorts of Spanish sausages.

The owners can organize a number of plans for us, from a sea excursion in a “llaut” (a Balearic fishing boat) to walks with or without a guide through the lush Sierra de Tramontana that encircles the valley. We can go to Puerto de Sóller by means of a tramway that descends those 2 kms that separate it from the town. There we will find good seafood restaurants, as well as a bar by a shingles beach where we can sit and idly watch the waves roll in.

The light in Puerto de Sóller and other places like L’Horta de Sóller, Biniaraix and L’Alqueria del Comte, has always attracted artists as well as tourists – albeit, these last are not as abundant as in other parts of the island. If we feel like going to the beach, we have close by those of Cala Deià, Cala Tuent, Sa Calobra, Bens d’Avall and Es Canyeret – with crystal clear water and ideal summer temperatures never below 72º F.

Excursions by boat:
The Ca'n Quatre rents a small yacht just for its guests and accompany them around the Northern Coast, stopping at small inlets to swim in the crystal clear waters... a total pleasure.

Mountain Excursions:
Excursions by boat, accompmpanied by a local guide, visiting the mountains that surround the valley and privately owned farmsteads (where normlly one cannot enter). The guide will explain the natural vegetation, the birds and other wildlife that live in the mountains, as well enjoy the hidden views of the valley.

In winter, the Ca'n Quatre offers visits to the olive press, where it makes its own olive oil in the traditional way.

ll	Tips & Getting There

From the airport, drive towards the city of PALMA and exit onto the VIA DE CINTURA in the direction of ANDRATX. Take the exit ramp to SOLLER and follow the road through the TUNNEL OF SOLLER, then follow the map provided in our travel guide.
