ll Activities
Sóller is the home of two museums and botanical gardens as well as a rich architectural heritage. A wander around the town can be a fascinating experience, with houses dating back to the 14th century and earlier, and a large number of modernist buildings. Of note are the parish church of Saint Bartholomew in the main square, together with the bank next door, Ca'n Prunera in the 'Carrer de Sa Lluna', and a large number of the houses in the 'Gran Via'.

La Granja
An old estate in Esporlas converted into a private museum. A visit to the torture chamber, with background sounds included (on tape) is an unforgettable experience.
Crta. esporles, Esporles Tel.: 971.61.00.32.

Palma-Sóller by train
Although as since February '97 we have the Soller tunnel (round trip 980 ptas), the train that leaves from Plaza España is much prettier.

The small village of Fornalutx, a few kilometers from Soller is one of the most charming of the island, surrounded by mountains, it offers peace and tranquility

The Balearic Museum of Natural Sciences in Sóller is dedicated to the study and the divulgation of nature within the Balearic islands. It was founded in 1987 and is housed in a mansion that was built in 1900, 'el Camp d'en Prohom'. The Botanical Gardens of Sóller occupy what used to be the garden.

Museum Of the " Casal de Cultura"
Carrer de sa Mar, 13
The museum occupies the old house of ca'n Mo, that was constructed in 1740.
There is an exhibition hall, library and the ethnological museum that holds a rich variety of archaeological findings and antique artefacts, together with artistic works, furniture and more.

ll Tips & Getting There
Leaving Palma follow the C711 road (Carretera de Sóller), drive past Bunyola and through the 3 km long Sóller tunnel. The C711 begins at the "Vía de Cintura" motorway, which runs round the city in a circle (take the "Sóller" or "Valldemossa" exits).
The village of Fornalutx lies just above Sóller and may be reached by either driving through Sóller, or taking the mountain road to Lluc. Once you leave the Sóller tunnel, keep going for about 1 km towards Port de Sóller. Shortly after crossing the tram lines turn right onto the roundabout towards Pollensa and Lluc. After about 4 km you will see a sign on the right indicating the way to Fornalutx. If you have taken the above route to Fornalutx, you will have to drive through the village up to the Ca’n Verdera parking area. Once there, please leave your luggage in the car, the hotel staff will bring it into the hotel for you. Walk along the street "Carrer des Sol" until you reach the street "Carrer des Toros". Ca’n Verdera is to be seen on the left-hand side.

ll Client Comments
Please feel free to send us your personal hotel review on this hotel. You may wonder why all the assessments we have on line are positive. Well, apart from the simple fact that we try to include only what we consider to be the best accommodations, there’s another important reason to bear in mind. Any hotel that receives 3 negative feedbacks is automatically taken out of our selection:

July '06 had a wonderful mini honeymoon at this hotel, exemplary service (bella Bea!) in an exquisite setting. We know the village (Fornalutx) well and it's without doubt the best hotel in the village. It's very compact but the courtyard, pool and garden reveals itself to you in a series of terraces which culminate in the restaurant terrace where you can watch the sunset over the mountains as you dine. One night we had dinner served to us on our private room terrace overlooking the Moroccan style courtyard and had a private lavender and jasmine scented walkway to the pool and garden. Absolute bliss, recommend it to all exhausted and stressed out travellers - a little piece of paradise!
