A beautiful Mediterranean style mansion, situated right in the centre of Cascais. Almost everyone that passes by stops to admire both the beautiful façade, adorned as it is with lovely hand painted tiles, and a garden that has flowers all year round. The end result is a real eye catcher making this house one of the most photographed in Cascais. The interior is somewhat more austere and intense. The walls are in part made up of typically small Portuguese tiles, oil paintings and watercolours as well as other artefacts. The wooden floors are covered with “Arroiolos” and Persian carpets. As for the rooms and corridors these have been decorated in a l’époque – including walls with strong colours and "bas relief" stucco ceilings. The end result is a unique house with a singular atmosphere right in the centre of one of Portugal’s most sophisticated resorts. A final note: the Casa da Pérgola is not able to accept crtedit cards and asks for notification of time of arrival.

The romantic town of Sintra, praised by Lord Byron, is a must for those visiting the Estoril Coast.
Less than twenty kilometres away, this area is particularly attractive for its lush vegetation and the original architecture of the houses, mostly dating back to the XIX century. The Estoril Coast line and the coast to the west – at the foot of the Sintra hills is worth visiting at any time of the year.
One of the most important places for the visitor is of course, Lisbon - capital of Portugal and relatively close to Cascais. There are many places to see and things to do in this area. We suggest you check out the information in the contents section of the Lisbon hotels.

Cabo da Roca
The most westerly point of Europe, a magnificent cliff overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy the delightfully unspoilt countryside, the low-growing vegetation and in the spring, the white carpet of Armeria Pseudarmeria, unique to this area.

ESTORIL

An internationally known resort, Estoril has all the facilities you will need together with a natural beauty and individual architecture blending with the surroundings. It is worth taking a stroll along to Monte Estoril, where you will find many pretty buildings on the way. In the park in front of the Casino, a colourful scene pleases the eye, edged by tall, tropical palm trees. Without losing any of its natural charm, Estoril has spread and now offers many facilities for the visitor.

Beaches:
Guincho beach, lying at the foot of the Sintra hills and facing the Atlantic, should not be missed.

ll	Tips & Getting There

From Lisbon: By Car: take the highway to Cascais (A5) and make the exit for Abuxarda, once there go straight ahead, you will pass three roundabouts, once you have reached the fourth and last possible one (for you can not go straight ahead from there on), make a right; you will see a mall to your left hand side; follow the direction of the traffic and when the road goes up, turn to your left, once on this road, turn to your right. You will be crossing the center of the village of Cascais, on this road you have a painted roundabout on the floor, turn to your left on it and go into a road with conditioned traffic. Casa da Pérgola is on this road on your left hand side; stop the car at the entrance and someone from the Casa will come and help with the luggage and indicate where to park the car.

By train: Take the Train heading for Cascais. Once you have arrived at the Cascais Station look for the McDonald’s Building, follow the road going down straight ahead of you; it is a pedestrian road, Casa da Pérgola is on your right hand side half way down.
