| Another magnificent manor house overlooking beautiful river valleys that the Minho seems to specialise in. Though originally dating back to the 15th century, it was extensively rebuilt in the 1700’s to include a baroque chapel and varanda. Accommodations are either apartment (housed in in the lovely main building itself) or cottages, each having their own separate entrances. Whatever the type, however, all have one thing in common – comfort and a fine attention to detail. Cottages, for example, take in a fireplace in the sitting room, excellent to snug by in the colder winter months. A further plus point is that here there is an abundance of space. The house is in the middle of 60 hectares of vineyards, olive trees, citrus trees, as well as pine tree woods. The estate’s shallow pool, excellently positioned and covered by a pergola is also great for children. As the house’s motto states, here you get “luxury at a rural price”. |
