Singular landscape and comforts making for an excellent Lanzarote accommodation

The almost lunar landscape of the area around the village of Uga is a sight to behold, and there is no better vantage point from which to enjoy wonderful views of the Timanfaya National Park and Femés Mountains (extinct volcanoes) then the Casa el Morro thanks to its hillside location. It seems perfectly in tune with it surroundings. Built in the 18th century, it is also an excellent example of the typical rural architecture of the region, with one added convenience – modern comforts, having been renovated from top to bottom in 1996. All five apartments that make up the Casa el Morro are independent of each other and are built round a courtyard, which in past lives served as granaries and warehouses, and which have now been replaced by subtle, simple décor, and those ubiquitous “modernities” such as satellite tv, etc. The carefully tended gardens of the Casa el Morro are worthy of note too. As indeed are the vineyards in nearby Geria. Unlike normal vines they take in water by extracting the morning dew (in view of the dryness of the climate) and this helps give them a rather singular appearance, much like the area itself.

Casa el Morro is located in a rural area at the highest peak of the village of Uga, called "EL Morro",belonging to the main village of Yaiza.It is situaded in the south of the island, near the National Park of Timanfaya.
