Wonderful rustic farmhouse in the Alentejo’s Vincentine Coast

These typical, whitewashed pair of Alentejo farmhouses are set In the Vicentine Coast Natural Park, a stunning stretch of coastline in one Europe's largest reserves. As if this was not enought, the Cerro da Fontinha is then protected by a further 15 hectares of eucalyptus woodland, front and back gardens ending by a lake where guests can take a swim or indulge in a spot of fishing. These facts alone are reason to enjoy an uplifting stay here enough, for the end result of it all is the perfect recipe for a relaxing stay, in Portugal’s most laid-back regions. Indeed, the siesta in this ares has still kept its meaning. It may seem a cliché but inside, decoration follows the traditional rustic style in total harmony with the regional materials used in the region – terracotta, alcoves and large tiles, just for starters. Comfort, simplicity and a certain amount of style and individuality into the bargain: then of course there are the beaches nearby, in our opinion probably the best in Portugal, a case in point being carvalhal beach. Simply wonderful.

First of all, you can go swimming or fishing at the wonderful lake of Cerro da Fontinha. As bicycles are provided, why not explore the colourful nature of Alentejo? The beach of Carvalhal is only 3 km away and the lovely village of Zambujeira do Mar is well worth a visit, too.

ll	Tips & Getting There

From Lisbon , take the A2 exit nº10 Beja/Ferreiras,then the IC1 to Algarve after 42km turn right to the N263 Odemira/Oeste, in Odemira take the road to Lagos, 6km after S.Teotónio turn right to Brejão and take the first left. The house is on your right just after the lake.
From Faro take the A22 (IP1) to Lagos, then the N120 through Aljezur towards San Teotónio. Approx. 5km after crossing into the Alentejo, left to Brejão and take the first left. The house is on your right just after the lake.
