This new chalet is a relaxed and welcoming lodging and only a stone’s throw away from the ski lifts of val D’aran. There is an immediate temptation to snuggle up to the large fireplace that welcomes us on arrival – such is the pleasure of the intense aroma of real wood burning. Rooms, some of which come with sloping walls and skylights, further provide real character and manage to be both spacious and welcoming. There is also a heated swimming pool that, curiously, is half indoors and half outdoors so visitors can take their choice of dip. A shuttle service takes skiers to the snow tracks at eleven in the morning. And the Pyrenees air – be it in summer or winter – really revitalizes the lungs. Finally the bar is a great place to discuss the days skiing at the end of the evening.
