This is a country inn set within an ancient castle and must be classified as a truly historic location (construction began in the 11th century). It was once the rear guard settlement for one of the camps of king Ferdinand III the Saint, during the conquest of Seville. It was later owned by Queen Maria de Molina, after which it is named. Besides having been a royal property, it is also the only rural building of its kind in Seville and, as such, has been designated a National Monument. The entire ensemble of buildings have been converted into a sumptuous hotel providing a handful of suites and rooms, a restaurant, a swimming pool, and all the modern amenities in a uniquely rural setting. Within a short radius guests will find golf, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting amongst other activities, not to mention that it is only 12km away from the beautiful city of Seville.

SEVILLA

The historic center of Seville is located on the left bank of the river in a spot previously protected by the Almohade wall, of which some ruins remain today. It contains some of the most famous neighbourhoods of the city such as Santa Cruz, San Bartolomé, San Vicente, San Lorenzo and El Arenal. On the right bank of the river stands the Arrabal suburb. These are the most interesting areas for the traveller to visit.
The rest of the city is built around a series of expansion projects, the most important being that carried our for the Latin American Exhibition of 1929, built along the southern stretch of the Guadalquivir River. In 1992, near the Cartuja Monastery, a new area was developed to the west of the city where Expo 92 was held.

ll	Tips & Getting There

By car: Turn left out of airport towards Seville. At the first filter, fork off to the right, signed ISLA DE LACARTUJA. Continue along this dual carriageway until you pass the ISLA DE LACARTUJA (1992 Expo) site. Follow the sign TODAS DIRECCIONES and then turn off into the N630/E803 road signed to MERIDA.

Take the exit sign posted to ALGABA and continue. At the roundabout take the C431 to ALCALA DEL RIO. On this road there is a left turning sign posted TORRE DE LA REINA. Take this turning. As you approach the village, the hotel is on the left with a white and yellow wall. Drive in through the gate (there is no hotel sign)
