Wonderfully located 16th century mansion in old-town Mallorca

Of the many things going for the Dalt Murada, the first must surely be its location in the heart of historic Palma. Not many places, for example, can boast having a magnificent centuries old cathedral as its neighbour. If you are lucky enough to book the Penthouse suite, then the superb view of the Cathedral from the private terrace is one of the best in town. If you can’t, then don’t despair as the other rooms all overlook the attractive interior patio (where breakfast is taken on warm days) and are all ample. Though décor takes in some curious mixes of the old and new, overall the 16th century house retains its sober old-world character thanks to the renaissance style paintings, 4-poster beds, 18th century pieces and Mallorcan handicrafts throughout. While the location is excellent for walking around Palma, it is advisable not to bring a car given the narrow lanes and alleyways. However, there are public parking spaces within a five-minute walk. Finally, a word must go to the extremely helpful staff who are always willing to provide suggestions on what to do and where to eat (there are no lack of choices).

ll	Tips & Getting There

From the airport:
Take the motorway in direction of PALMA. Once in Palma, you will see the cathedral on the right and take the second traffic light after passing the cathedral for AVENIDA ANTONIO MAURA and then the first on the right CALLE CONQUISTADOR. The first on the right is then a narrow road called CALLE ALMUDAINA, where the hotel is located. However, you can’t carry on, sio pleas turn on to the left for PLAZA CORT where you find the “Ayuntamento”. First on the right is PLAZA STA EULALIA, then turn first on the right again for CALLE MOREL, and again first of the right for CALLE ALMUDAINA.
