El Bulli Hotel Hacienda Benazuza - an oasis of peace, luxury and gastronomical delight

Originally a 10th century Moorish Estate, the El Bulli Hacienda Benazuza later became part of the crusading order of the Knights of Santiago and subsequently the property of a succession of noblemen honoured with the title “Count of Benazuza”. In 1998 the hotel formed an association with El Bulli (Ferrán Adriá) for the technical gastronomic operations and it is now part of the El Bulli Hotels and Resorts” concept, with Rafa Morales, the Chef, and Pepe García, manager of restaurant services, personally taking care of every detail. The end result of this all is that the hotel's “La Alqueria” restaurant has recently been awarded its second Michelin star. It is therefore the only Andalusian restaurant and one of the ten in Spain that hold this prestigious classification. The El Bulli Hacienda Benazuza remains an oasis surrounded by lush gardens and enclosed by white washed walls, where an air of seclusion pervades the air. The endless views of the centenary olive groves mix with the whisper of the fountains and subtle perfumes of the gardens. Stepping inside, Arabic patios and salons envelope you with Andalusian tradition reflecting the hotel’s rich historical past. Its 44 bedrooms and suites have been decorated with magnificent objects of art and valuable antiques that blend harmoniously with the more modern facilities available. All this just 15 minutes from the beautiful and historic city of Seville and in the heart of Andalusia.

SEVILLA

The historic center of Seville is located on the left bank of the river in a spot previously protected by the Almohade wall, of which some ruins remain today. It contains some of the most famous neighbourhoods of the city such as Santa Cruz, San Bartolomé, San Vicente, San Lorenzo and El Arenal. On the right bank of the river stands the Arrabal suburb. These are the most interesting areas for the traveller to visit.
The rest of the city is built around a series of expansion projects, the most important being that carried our for the Latin American Exhibition of 1929, built along the southern stretch of the Guadalquivir River. In 1992, near the Cartuja Monastery, a new area was developed to the west of the city where Expo 92 was held.

Mudejar style. Fortified church of almohad origin. The presbytery, located at a considerable height, and the exent church tower, are quite striking.

Mudejar style. The tower is covered with tiles. Inside it is worth noting the 18th century baroque main altar and its altarpieces, statues and paintings of the 16th, 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

The tower still conserves its original structure, including access ramps.

ll	Tips & Getting There

Take the SE-30 road in direction of HUELVA, then go onto the A-49 Motorway. After approx. 20 km, take the exit number 16 in direction of SANLUCAR LA MAYOR. After one km turn to the right, where it says “SANLUCAR 2 KM”. You will drive through an underpass and see the sign to the hotel HACIENDA BENAZUZA on your left after about 500 m.
