Our favourite hotel in beautiful, atmospheric Segovia. The historic 15th century building that makes up the Ayala de Berganza has been declared a Monument of Artistic importance and it was also the home of the early 20th century painter Zuluaga. To these historic connections has been added modern four-star facilities. In fact, it was renovated in 1998 in such a way that the visitor gets both a sense of history and all modern comforts. Though not located in the very centre of Segovia, it is nevertheless only some 300 metres from the renowned aqueduct, and the heart of town is only a stone’s throw away. Getting to visit some of Segovia’s unique monuments such as the Alcazar, Cathedral, Plaza Mayor and Carmelite Monastery is therefore easy. It is also less of a problem to park here too! Rooms are all very spacious, individually furnished and comfortable. The hotel’s “Taberna” is also a great place to try a typical Spanish breakfast or tapa.

Mirador de Terminillo

The Mountain Villages:
A large part of the Province of Segovia occupies the northern side of the Guadarrama Sierra. It is full of varying scenery surrounding picturesque mountain villages.

Towards the south, Peña del Oso, Montón de Trigo and Peña del Águila, which are great points for mountain climbing. Villacastín - This old village has a parish church with a Gothic interior.

Towards the north-east, there are typical Castilian villages with resounding names: Torrecaballeros, Collado Hermoso, Navafría, Matabuena, Prádena.

The Royal Residences:
La Granja de San Ildefonso (1720). Felipe V was attracted by the beauty of the Valsain pine forest and had a palace built there - La Granja. It is very pleasant place to go for a walk in the gardens full of statues and fountains. Riofrío (1754). built at the expense of Isabel de Farnesio. Reminiscent of the Royal Palace in Madrid and stands out from the brushwood around it due to its pink walls and granite enclosures. Also has a Game Museum.

Castles:
Pedraza. A walled village, which is entered by the only gate there is. The street leads to a picturesque arcaded square. The last link in the ring of walls is the castle of the Condestables de Castilla

Coca. An important Roman settlement and birthplace of Emperor Theodosius. The castle is made of brick and is a masterpiece of Mudéjar military architecture.

ll	Tips & Getting There

The Hotel Partner Ayala Berganza is located in the centre of Segovia next to the San Millán Church, two minutes on foot to the Aqueduct.

By car from Madrid or Valladolid, once in the inner part of the city, follow the signs direction Ávila to the roundabout where the bus station and police station are. Passing this roundabout, make your first right and at the end of the street on the right hand side is the Hotel door.

From the bus station: Cross the street Ezequiel González and get on Fernández Ladreda. Circling the San Millán Church, go down the hill and at the bottom on the left is the Hotel.

The hotel is in the pedestrian centre of Segovia, if you wish to park in a covered parking, two minutes by foot from the hotel is the Aqueduct public parking, with reconciled price for guests. When exiting the parking, exit at "salida a S. Millán".
