Good value for money hotel in an excellent part of Venice

You couldn’t ask for a better located little hotel, tucked away, as it is, in the lovely Dorsoduro and a stone’s throw from the Accademia Galleries, St. Mark’s Square and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection. In fact, the Agli Alboretti used to be an old haunting ground of Peggy Guggenheim and her painting fraternity, when it was simply a restaurant in days of old. Some years ago Anna Lingueri decided to bring this once famous place back to life, the end result of which is the new Hotel Agli Alboretti. The restaurant remains an excellent place to eat and many people are drawn to it just for the cuisine alone. It has intimate dining room whilst the back garden provides a pretty and welcoming haven in the hot summer months. But the Agli Alboretti is now also a relatively inexpensive hotel with small but pretty and well-arranged rooms. A nautical ornamentation, with original pieces taken from old ships' cabins, is used liberally throughout, which certainly goes well with the cries of the sea birds in the nearby Canal. This combination of price and location that is beautiful yet relatively “untouristy” are the hotel’s two main selling points, though one cannot also omit to mention the excellent and friendly service.

ll	Tips & Getting There

By car:
In case you drive to Venice and park your car in one of the parking places at Piazzale Roma (coach and car terminal) or travel by train and arrive at Santa Lucia train station:
Catch "vaporetto" line number "1" or "82" via Canal Grande towards St. Mark’s Square.
Get off at boat-stop number 12 "Accademia". Out of the landing, turn left and then right and walk into the avenue -Rio Terrà Foscarini. You will see the Agli Alboretti on the left-hand side of the street only a few steps ahead.
Alternatively, you could park your car at Tronchetto car park. Then directions are slightly different: From there it is only boat number 82 via Canale della Giudecca to boat stop "Zattere".
The hotel is situated about 100 metres far from the boat-stop on the right-hand side of the avenue (rio Terrà Foscarini), which you see on your right (past Gesuati church) as you walk out of the landing stage.

From Marco Polo airport:
From Marco Polo Airport the journey to Venice is run by Alilaguna company whose shuttle-boats connect the airport to Venice. Get your ticket before leaving the arrivals hall at the airport and then follow the signs to the landing stage (as you walk out of the arrivals hall you will see it in the distance on your right). The complete journey of the boat is from Marco Polo airport and terminates at Zattere-Alilaguna boat-stop.
The journey time is about 1:30 hours.
Once you arrive at "Zattere" walk down the avenue you see Rio Terrà Foscarini, right in front of you, where the hotel is situated on the right-hand side of the street.

From Treviso Airport:
Treviso is an elegant town about 40 kilometres far from Venice. It has a small airport and some aeroplanes land there as well.
The ATVO public bus company and Ryanair run a number of busses in connection with Ryanair and other flights arrivals and departures.

All the bus routes terminate at Piazzale Roma. From there follow the above instructions to reach the hotel.
