There’s a new kid on the hotel block in Barcelona!
The Hotel Barcelona Catedral has only recently opened but it already boasts those attributes normally associated with this fascinating city, namely style and design chic. You might not think so as you look at the natural stone style exterior which is actually rather ordinary and business like, but step inside and you enter an oasis of stylish fashion right in the heart of one of Barcelona’s the most noble (and busiest) areas quarters. The idea behind the Barcelona Catedral was deceptively simple; to blend a cocktail of comfort and modernity whilst maintaining a welcoming, dare we say homely, feel. It’s amazing how many boutique hotels cannot pull this off, but the result here was spot on.
Many of the furnishings were made especially for the Barcelona Catedral, not done a la Ikea, so unique grey mirrors, IP wood terraces and Oakwood in noble rooms are the norm. Bedrooms are decorated in white, silver and natural wood, together with textiles in warm tones and elegant textures. And we can’t forget to mention the king-sized beds with quilted mattress, white goose feather and down duvets with anti-mite fibre. There are other extra bonuses at the Barcelona Catedral, such as breakfast by the pool and chill out areas with Internet access. It’s great when stylish hotels, which the Barcelona Catedral undoubtedly is, still manage to put the comfort of guests first and not see style just as an end in itself. |

Barcelona is the cultural capital of Catalonia. Museums, theatres, cinemas, festivals, auditoriums, art galleries… If you love culture, Barcelona will surprise you. The city has over 50 museums, with permanent collections by important artists. Highlights include the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC) and the Barcelona Contemporary Art Museum (MACBA). Many jazz, flamenco and contemporary music festivals take place in the city. If you prefer classical music, you must visit the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Auditori. On the other hand, the Gran Teatre del Liceu has one of the most prestigious opera programmes in Europe. Every Sunday, the Barcelona Catedral Hotel proposes a guided walk in the Ciutat Vella (Old City). It’s free and essential in order to discover all the secrets of one of city’s most historic districts.

Please feel free to send us your personal hotel review on this hotel. You may wonder why all the assessments we have on line are positive. Well, apart from the simple fact that we try to include only what we consider to be the best accommodations, there’s another important reason to bear in mind. Any hotel that receives 3 negative feedbacks is automatically taken out of our selection. Have just spent 4 great nights at this fabulous little hotel....its a real find. in a perfect location...cathedral plaza outside..near the very busy Ramblas..but quiet..great walk alongside the cathedral down tiny old streets to the beach...the hotel itself is contemporary...very clean..great bathroom...a bed you could hide the waltons in..didnt try the breakfast...slept in...pool on roof was ace..and very quiet...good toiletries ..replaced daily..well stocked mini-bar...friendly staff...4 PC's should...god knows why..you would want them...will be going back soon as can...
