An historic little luxury Bologna hotel right in the centre of town
The Hotel Commercianti is part of the Bologna Art Hotels group, which are rightly famous for the excellence of their locations and character. The other hotels of the group are the Hotel Novecento, Hotel Orologio and the Hotel Corona d'Oro 1890. Despite their common heritage, each one brings its own distinct personality. The Commercianti, for example, is a delightful ancient building set in the shadow of Basilica di San Petronio, with outstanding views over the old town. It is said to have been built in the 12th century and some of the original elements, such as the old beams and décor, still remain. Some, in fact, were unearthed after undergoing an extensive renovation. It is also one of the few hotels to have been awarded the “Stanze Italiane 2004” by the touring Club Italiano in view of the “unique experience” it provides.

By Car from the A1 highway:
Exit "Bologna Casalecchio" and follow Asse Attrezzato Sud-Ovest for 1 km, carry on and follow Via Camellini for 4 km and then Viale Pietro Nenni for 1 km until Bologna. Go always straight ahead and follow Via Giuseppe Saragat for 300 mt, turn the roundabout Rotonda Luciano Romagnoli towards Viale Gandhi, proceed for about 650 metres and then follow Via Tolmino for 426 mt. Then turn left, follow Via Sabotino for 700 metres. and then turn right in Viale Giovanni Vicini. After about 250 metres. turn left in Piazza Di Porta Sant'Isaia and follow Via Sant'Isaia for 580 metres. Go straight ahead following Via Barberia for about 100 metres, turn left in Via De' Gombruti and then turn right, follow Via San Marcellino. After 100 metres turn left and follow Via Santa Margherita for about 250 metres and turn right in Piazza De' Celestini. After about 100 metres turn left in Via D'Azeglio and then immediately right in Vicolo Colombina. The first street on the right is Via dei Pignattari.
By Car from G. Marconi airport:
At the sign of "Bologna" follow the roundabout towards Via Dell'Aeroporto and turn left and follow Via Dell'Aeroporto for about 300 metres. At the sign "Aeroporto" turn right and follow Via Del Triumvirato for 1 km until Bologna. Turn left, follow Via Emilia Ponente for 2 km and then follow Via Aurelio Saffi for about 700 metres. Turn right in Viale Giovanni Vicini and after about 500 metres. turn left in Piazza Di Porta Sant'Isaia and follow Via Sant'Isaia for 580 metres. Go straight ahead following Via Barberia for about 100 metres, turn left in Via De' Gombruti and then turn right, follow Via San Marcellino. After 100 metres turn left and follow Via Santa Margherita for about 250 metres and turn right in Piazza De' Celestini. After about 100 metres turn left in Via D'Azeglio and then immediately right in Vicolo Colombina. The first street on the right is Via dei Pignattari.
From Bologna Railway Station:
It is possible to reach the Hotel Commercianti by taxi or by bus service, lines 25 and 37 - stop Piazza Maggiore, 70 metres from the hotel.
