Charming 18th century palace in the heart of Puerto Santa Maria

Being a lovely old 18th century palace is a good enough start for anyone who wants to stay at the Duques de Medinacelli. Being located in the centre of pretty Puerto de Santa Maria is an added bonus. The combination of the two mean guests can stay and relax in an elegant historic mansion, yet be near the beach or visit the hotels botanical garden, with it centenary walnut trees, palms trees and cacti, and which has been classified as of cultural interest. Alternately, one can just stroll around lovely Puerto Santa Maria and enjoy its special atmosphere. Rooms are on the whole decorated in simple good taste and arranged around the hotel’s courtyard, adding yet another flavour of Andalusia. The area around Puerto de Santa Maria and Cádiz are excellent for water sports, windsurfing and sailing being cases in point.

We have just returned from El Puerto de Santa Maria where we stayed at Hotel Duques de Medinacelli.
It was a wonderful four days at the hotel. They gave us a junior suite for the same price as a double room. The service was excellent and the whole experience of staying in a spanish palace was lovely. Thanks to Secret Places. Please pass on our comments to the hotel.
