Just 25 minutes from Barcelona this beautiful 19th century villa is the result of a plantation owner’s desire to build something a little out of the ordinary and settle back in the “mother” country.

The exterior of what was once Dr Cristófol Cuadras’s private villa has clean and simple lines. The interior has been restored and, in keeping with the original design, features stucco-work, balconies and mosaic floor tiles to retain an air of colonial style circa 1874. The rooms on the first floor are slightly larger with higher ceilings whilst the second floor rooms keep the original wooden beams for a slightly more rustic feel. Throughout though, there is a sensation of space and light, airy relaxation.

The hotel is in the centre of the village of Sant Pere de Ribes on the western edge of the Garraf Natural Park and close to local vineyards which open up their doors for those who want to try some of the local wines. The lively town of Sitges is 5 minutes away, with Tarragona 35 minutes to the south. Beaches, countryside and some of the best European culture are right on the doorstep and if you are looking for a slightly more laid-back, calmer alternative to Barcelona this could well be it. Wonderful restaurants abound and the local diet is blessed with fresh fish and shellfish from the sea as well as more hearty mountain fare.

Good connections are ensured with Barcelona (Prat) airport 20 minutes from the hotel and Reus 40 minutes.

The Double and Superior Double Rooms have a minimum stay of two nights during weekend periods.

Sitges is a lively cosmopolitan town favoured by Barcelonans for the weekend. The countryside is beautiful and features the best of mountains tumbling into the sea giving ample opportunity to relax on the beautiful beaches as well as taking a stroll in the hills. Alternatively, unwind with some of the region’s justifiably renowned cooking and wines. The variety of activities in this area including water sports and mountain sports mean that this is a great location either with or without the kids.

ll	Tips & Getting There

From Barcelona on the motorway C-32, take exit 28, “Sant Pere de Ribes Est” and following the C-15b road towards Olivella before following signs for “Sant Pere de Ribes Centre”.

From Valencia/Tarragona take the A-7 motorway north towards Barcelona. Leave at junction 31 and join the C-32, leaving this at the “Sant Pere de Ribes Est” exit and picking up the C-15b road towards Olivella before following signs for “Sant Pere de Ribes Centre”.

From Madrid or Zaragoza take the AP-2 in the direction of Barcelona, leaving at exit 30 (Sitges/Vilanova) and taking the C-15b towards Sitges/Sant Pere de Ribes and following the indications for “Sant Pere de Ribes Centre”.

From France or Girona use the A-7 motorway to head south towards Tarragona. Exit at junction 29 and take the C-15b towards Sitges/Sant Pere de Ribes and following the indications for “Sant Pere de Ribes Centre”.

When you leave the C-15b you are brought onto Carrer d’Olivella. This road continues for 300m before a 90 degree turn to the left and a one-way street ahead. Follow the road to the left and stay left. Once you have completed what is effectively 300 degrees of the circle, take the exit off to the right, Carrer del Palou and the hotel is located at numbers 15-17.
