| The appearance of this elegant hotel belies its age. Though built in the 1940’s it might pass for a 19th century building with its lovely soft golden yellow stone work and iron balconies, but whatever the period the Hotel Rector fits in perfectly with its beautiful surroundings. Located by the walls of the Citadel, it is only a stone’s throw away from some of Salamanca’s great monuments, including the Cathedral and fabulous Plaza Mayor. Inside, a refreshing air of discretion pervades, nothing over the top and no excesses, yet everything feels just right. Wood is constantly used with excellent results, as in the parquet floors and furniture; the stained glass windows in the lobby are beautiful and general décor is understated yet classy. Bedrooms are also furnished to a fine standard and come with double-glazing, large marble clad bathrooms and even big comfy sofa-chairs. The Hotel Rector only serves breakfast (and very good it is too) but there are many restaurants nearby offering regional fine Spanish cuisine. Add to this an excellent, personalised service (the manager, Mr. Ferrán Riba would not tolerate it any other way) and you have one of the regions most attractive accommodations. |

Please feel free to send us your personal hotel review on this hotel. You may wonder why all the assessments we have on line are positive. Well, apart from the simple fact that we try to include only what we consider to be the best accommodations, there’s another important reason to bear in mind. Any hotel that receives 3 negative feedbacks is automatically taken out of our selection.
"This hotel was a great choice, a wonderful experience. We were treated very well, the rooms are comfortable and breakfast was excellent. I congratulate the management" EM, Spain |
