Full price tickets = €7.50 reduced on Sundays to €5.50 and on the first Sunday of each month the museum is free but busy as a consequence!
Opening Hours: 9.30am – 6pm (Thursday until 9.45pm). Closed Mondays. For individuals without tickets use entrance A on the left of the façade.

In 2006 the d’Orsay marked her 20th birthday remembering the day in which she was re-born from her previous incarnation as a commuter train station. The good news is that the celebrations are continuing into 2007 with a whole selection of special events and exhibitions. Many will want to come for the standing collections of Western Art (1848-1914) covering the realists, impressionists and a whole lot more besides. The building alone is worth a visit. Monet, Manet, Degas, Cézanne, Van Gogh, Gaugain and Seurat are all waiting!

The Louvre
A hugely resourceful website at www.louvre.fr
Full price basic ticket = €8.50 which gives you a day’s entrance to the main areas which to be honest, is more than enough for one day anyway. We recommend buying a Carte Musées et Monuments that comes in a 1 (€18), 3 (€36) or 5 (€54) day format and, apart from giving you access to another 59 Paris museums, means you can also skip the lines which can be horrifically long from March until the end of the summer.
Admission to the Louvre is free on the first Sunday of every month but there can be significant queues as a result!
Opening Hours: The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day except Tuesday. On Wednesdays and Fridays it is open until 9.45 pm.

Close to 700 years as the main residence for French Kings and Emperors left its mark on this wonderful collection of buildings. Now though it is more famous for housing the largest collection of art in the world, some 35,000 works from the 13th century up to 1848 (when the Musée d’Orsay takes over). 200 years as a museum has given the Louvre a bit of a head start in developing its collections and if your interest in paintings by Caravaggio, da Vinci, Rubens, Goya, Constable, Delacroix, Raphael, Rembrandt or Giotto can’t be held then the museum also houses collections of classical art that rival those of the British Museum and the Vatican. Islamic Art, Egyptian and Near Eastern Antiquities can all be found.
